Oscar Lorente - Alegría en Soledad (2019)

Oscar Lorente is a guitarist and jazz composer from Tres Cantos (Madrid). His passion for music led him to abandon his old life as a computer engineer to pursue a career in jazz and modern music at Laval University in Canada and a master's degree in composition and arrangements, in order to bring jazz to the people.
For people who want to learn to listen to jazz, Oscar's recommendation is that they start listening to acid jazz, funk, Latin jazz or jazz fused with world music, subgenres that tend to be softer so that the ear becomes accustomed to the jazz sonority.
"When people think of jazz, they imagine the great classics, the swing or the beebop, but jazz has evolved a lot since the 30s until now" Oscar also regrets that Spanish jazz artists are more appreciated outside the country than in his own land, great exponents like Pedro Iturralde, Jorge Pardo and Moisés P. Sánchez, who have nothing to envy to international jazz musicians.
