J.W. Farquhar recorded in early ’70s The Formal Female, which is one of the very first lo-fi records. It’s made in the same spirit like what Jandek or Stevie Moore later did, but J.W. Farquhar is still not fully discovered by the masses. Shadoks reissued his LP awhile ago with extended liner notes. This basement acid rocker recorded all by himself and he even used basic drum machine. We spoke with him about making of this unique piece of music.
