Smart Matter reveals a talented sax/guitar/drums trio that loves playing together and is always looking for new ways to reach listeners with music that doesn’t sacrifice smarts to accessibility (and vice-versa). A rare bassless, pianoless jazz trio, Turtleboy integrates influences including Stan Getz, Wayne Krantz and Ben Monder with Radiohead and electronica to forge an original sound.
