Following a string of impressive albums ("For Lovers Only," "Follow Me," "Standards My Way," "Sophisticated Lady" and "Live from Montreux,") Kimiko Itoh is back and is in a more stripped down musical space. Additionally, she is joined by the great, Makoto Ozone (on piano) for a handful of sumptuous selections. She gets better and better with each and every release and is even scatting on this one! Is it no wonder she's Japan's #1 female Jazz vocalist supreme? Then again, she may be the ONLY ONE, but she certainly IS in a class all by herself! I'm proud to be a fan and to own yet another Itoh masterpiece. She's brilliant and the voice as well as the phrasing on each song are so creamy and her tone, so intimate, that you actually feel like she's singing to YOU and only YOU. Jazz vocals don't get any better than THIS!
