Our first Classic Icelandic Album was made by the hippie, psychedelic rock super group Trúbrot (Hljómar meets Flowers): “…Lifun”.

The band name means”Breach of Faith”. It is a progressive concept album, sort of rock opera, recorded in March 1971. The 13 interconnected tracks, displaying influences from The Move, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young; are chronologing life from the cradle to the grave, and the influence of the environment on an unnamed person. Group members of were: Rúnar Júlíusson (vocals, bass), Gunnar Þórðarson (guitar), Gunnar Jökull Hákonarson (drums), Karl Sighvatsson (keyboards), Shady Owens (vocals), Ólafur Garðarsson (drums), Magnús Kjartansson (keyboards, vocals), Engilbert Jensen (vocals), Ari Jónsson (drums, vocals), and Vignir Bergmann (guitar).

“…Lifun” Album (LP) was released on the Tónaútgáfan label on 29. June 1971.
Reissued 20 years later as CD on the Geimsteinn label in 1991.

Members on the album “…Lifun” were: Rúnar Júlíusson (vocals, bass), Gunnar Þórðarson (vocals, guitar), Gunnar Jökull Hákonarson (drums, percussion), Karl J. Sighvatsson (orgel) & Magnús Kjartansson (piano, vocals).

The LP was recorded in London at the Morgan Studios and Sound Techniques Studios, with the help of producer/engineer Jerry Boys, who has worked with The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Rolling Stones, to name just a few.

The special octagonal album cover was designed by Baldvin Haldórsson. About 6000 copies were sold.

Almost all people interested in vintage prog rock will like this.
