Billy Vaughn And His Orchestra - La Paloma (1958/2019)

Middle-of-the-road soft music bandleader Billy Vaughn cut one album after another for the Dot label in the late 1950s and early to mid-'60s. Most of these were albums built around a single musical "theme," even if said theme was nothing more than a collection of current tunes of the hit parade. La Paloma is the Billy Vaughn Spanish music album, featuring soft elevator muzak takes on "Brazil," "Mexicali Rose," "Estrelita," "Perfidia" and the title track. This CD reissue includes four bonus tracks taken from four later Dot albums and adds "Love Me With All Your Heart," "Meditation," "Sunday In Madrid" and "Hernando's Hideaway" to the final tally.
