The Australian group from Prahran (suburb of Melbourne), formed in 1971. The band's first performance took place in early December of the same year, 1971, in support of the blues-rock band Carson in Ocean Grove, a coastal town on the outskirts of Melbourne. Then followed the performances on "Evolution" (a grandiose festival of Australian dance, taking place in its very center - Rosebud on the peninsula of Mornington). On the eve of the new 1972 "It Flew Away" was played at the Regent Theater in South Yarra (also a suburb of Melbourne) along with Spectrum, Friends, Carl & Janie Myriad, Blackfeather and The Joy Band. " Throughout 1972, "It Flew Away" promoted their music wherever they could. Calling to the aid of a concert agency with the symbolic title "Let It Be", the musicians got the right to play in such popular places as Sebastians, Q Club, Much More Ballroom, in various local schools, not refusing any invitations, even went to visit other cities of the country - Adelaide, Sydney and Newcastle. Just at that time, in Sydney, the band visited the studio ABC (state-funded TV channel), where they played their hits "Candy Meets The Vibrator" and "Aimless Pasture", and another song they performed during the broadcast of the popular music show, known for the name "GTK". And then they won the competition of popular rock bands in Mildura, on the banks of the Murray River, and seemed to have reached a certain recognition, including among critics and commentators in the music press. But it did not end very well. The Regent Theater burned down, and the Much More Ballroom club closed. After these sad events, the group invested its own funds in one promising project called "D.S.H.", but who would have thought - after a few cash injections into it, the latter went bankrupt! By the beginning of 1973, they literally sat on the floor in "Phil Dwyer" - a small music store-studio, not knowing how to reassure each other. Sympathy in this state they, of course, caused little, there was no support from the emerging fans of the group, and eventually "It flew away" from the rock scene as quickly and suddenly as it appeared on it. The last attempt to play in bars and pubs to somehow make ends meet, also failed. Unfortunately, the mentioned optimism, not backed by something more tangible and material, was not enough for the further existence of the group and its participants soon wandered off to where.
