Pinnacle was a group from Liverpool, that was highly influenced by psychedelic/space rock groups like Pink Floyd and Hawkwind, but at the same time they really liked the more straight forward bands like Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. The result was their only LP Assasin, which came out in 1974. Their sound is quite unique and a fusion of aforementioned groups. It's spacious, it's heavy and it's really fast, that might show early touches of new genre emerging soon - "New Wave of British Heavy Metal". Here's the complete story about their time with one of their members, David Mylett.
