Siguidiya Percussion was initially organized as a dance group, created in orchestral form by Karim Coulibaly and Chaka Kone in 1992. The word “Siguidiya" means good cohabitation. It is this good cohabitation that has made Bamako into a big city like others in Africa and the rest of the world. The group became one of the first participants and winners of the trophy at the International Festival of Percussion of Mali.Title: Arounaka Djembekan

Integration is free and voluntary to the program which aims to train young people and promote their social integration in a country where unemployment is very high. Many of the young people trained in Mali, the Burkinabe, the Senegalese and the Guineans, evolve to international levels. The training program in dance and percussion is open to anyone of any nationality.
Siguidiya is in collaboration with many African and Western groups, including Group Bwazan, Super Khasso, and others who seeks to help young people in the development of traditional music, Malian, and generally the world.
We ask the youth to have the courage to learn traditional music, because these young people can be a very good continuity in the evolution of Siguidiya. We do this work for the sake of our country and for Mali. We thank all people of good will for the success of Siguidiya.
