Entouré du pianiste Jan Lundgren, du trompettiste Sebastian Studnitzky, du guitariste Daniel Stelter, du vibraphoniste Christopher Dell et du bassiste Lars Danielsson, le batteur bavarois associe jazz et musique traditionnelle espagnole avec intelligence et goût, offrant principalement des compositions originales mais revisitant également du Rodrigo avec son incontournable Concierto de Aranjuez. Après une belle parenthèse de cool jazz 50’s avec Kind Of Cool publié en 2015, Haffner opte ici aussi pour une formation entièrement acoustique dont les improvisations jamais trop bavardes siéent à la perfection au raffinement de la démarche. Un très bel album de plus dans sa déjà copieuse discographie.
