Bridging the gap between experimentation and accessibility” (Rolling Stone), The Comet Is Coming announces the digital release of the group’s highly-anticipated mini-album The Afterlife, out on September 27 via Impulse!/Universal Music Canada, the country's leading music company.

The Afterlife will serve as a companion piece to the group’s breakout album Trust In The Lifeforce Of The Deep Mystery and the lead track “Lifeforce Part II” is out now, listen here.

On Trust In The Lifeforce Of The Deep Mystery, the group (Danalogue, Betamax, and King Shabaka) delivered an album of 21st Century spiritual jazz that was lauded by fans and critics alike. NPR expressed “If a Salvador Dali zombie-scape came to life [...] this might just be the soundtrack,” while Brooklyn Vegan warned “This isn’t music that falls into the background; it’s music that grips you and takes you away and abruptly drops you back to earth.”

“The Afterlife has been a topic of deep consideration and of the keys to spiritual mythology around the world for millennia,” claims kinetic keyboardist Danalogue. He continues to state “The two records can be seen as companions, that cannot exist without each other, like day and night, light and dark, creation and destruction. They were made together, at the same time, and have always been intended to be experienced together.”

Taking synthesizer-driven psychedelic jazz to the masses, The Comet Is Coming has sold out shows across the globe (Glastonbury, Fuji Rock, Roskilde Festival, Off Festival) and has made impressionable appearances at Bonnaroo, SXSW, and Big Ears- where the band was dubbed as the festival’s “Best Breakout Act” by Rolling Stone.

Danalogue, synthesizer
