YUM - Hot Wax (2019)

YUM started in 2016, after a long musical and human experience as Thomas, a difficult band to label, where they wrote and played in many different styles and genres.
There's a complete drift towards a new mentality with YUM, where they implemented horns and vocal harmonies, tightening their groove for a funk/soul sound.
The band's references can be found in the black scene from the ‘70, from Stevie Wonder to Curtis Mayfield, to the band War, mixed together with more clean sounding classics like Steely Dan.
HOT WAX is an album created and recorded with vintage equipment, to keep real with the feeling and Mood they were looking to create.

Gli YUM nascono nel 2016 dopo una lunga
esperienza musicale, discografica e di vita sotto il nome Thomas, band difficilmente etichettabile, con la quale hanno scritto e interpretato stili e generi musicali molto vari. Cambio di mentalità con gli Yum, che hanno aggiunto all'organico una sezione di fiati e armonie vocali, ottenendo nelle loro composizioni un sound omogeneo e ricco che non trascura il groove e richiama il soul/funk. I riferimenti della band sono da ricercare
decisamente in area Black, da Stevie Wonder e Curtis Mayfield passando per gli War, senza dimenticare i riferimenti più"accademici" come gli Steely Dan.
Nasce così HOT WAX, il loro primo album, realizzato con strumenti e attitudine “seventies” tipici dei generi ai quali fa riferimento.
