Smooth jazz trumpeter and vocalist Gordon James branches out with this new release of New Orleans inspired original music.
Known for his smooth lyrical trumpet and flugelhorn James sings and plays on the recording of excellent New Orleans themed songs destined to become classics. Recorded live in the studio with a hot rhythm section consisting of Mike DiLorenzo piano, B3 organ, Mike Hogan guitar, Mark Peterson bass, Gary Dates drums, Gordon James trumpet, flugelhorn and vocals. The album also features a horn section of trumpet, sax, trombone on six songs. Gordon's wife singer songwriter Carol Selick is featured on four songs as well, two of which are duets with Gordon. Her songs Weary Women's Blues and Cuddle Queen show off her unique lyrics and rich vocal stylings. The albums final song is a reggae version of What a Wonderful World. James does a duet with world renowned vocalist and harmonica player Rob Paparozzi from the Blues Brothers.
