After four years on the scene in Mexico City making connections and discovering new ways of making music, Victor Correa presents his new quintet with "In Lak ‘ Ech, Hala Ken"; in the Mayan Language - I'm another version of you.
In Lak ‘ Ech, Hala Ken is a further step for Victor Correa, now leading this new grouping of some of Barcelona's key improvising musicians and playing his original compositions, drawing on his experience of Mexico and its people.
The recording represents a new challenge with Correa encouraging his bandmates to accompany him on a journey beyond the comfort zone, particularly in terms of language and the search for a new articulation of its central themes.
