Jonas Struck - Conrad and Michelle: If Words Could Kill (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (2018) [Hi-Res]

When Jonas Struck scored the Oscar short listed feature Superclásico, it was the second time he teamed up with award winning Danish director Ole Christian Madsen. Ole Christian Madsen wanted his new film, a tragicomedy, to have a somewhat melancholic score and asked Struck to compose some simple and heartbreaking themes.

Later in the process, Jonas Struck wrote the songs featured in the film, picked his favorite musicians and recorded with the unique vocalists Ernesto Manuitt Hernandez and Elena Setien. Though Struck’s songs are a playful mix of genres, they have an extraordinary authenticity, giving Superclásico a strong ethnic identity.

A few years earlier Struck scored Madsen’s divorce drama, Prag, set and filmed in Prague with famous Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen. This time Madsen asked Struck for a symphonic score, a score that Struck recorded with The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. As with Superclásico Struck created a strong signature score, this time centered around three very intense and emotional main themes.

In 2013 Struck did the score for a feature film about the danish icon’s “Spies & Glistrup” directed by Christoffer Boe. It’s a story of the unique and perhaps unlikely friendship between two of the biggest eccentrics in Denmark – The Right Wing Politician Mogens Glistrup and “The Travel King of Denmark”, Simon Spies. The music features Struck playing guitar with The City Of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

Struck has just finished the score for Roni Ezra's feature film 9. april. The score understates the surreal chock and state the soliders are in during the german attack in the morning of April 9. The score is a blend of electronic and organic instruments.

Currently working on the mainly electronic score for the Cold-War set thriller “Idealisten” (“The Idealist”) directed by Christina Rosendahl.

Struck’s passion for music goes back to his childhood. Struck grew up in a small town on the island of Falster. He quickly chose music over mopeds and at the age of ten he started his own band, The Silverstars. At the age of fifteen Struck hosted his own radio program at the local radio station dedicated to modern jazz, and the following years he played hundreds of live gigs featuring many genres such as surf music, rock ‘n’ roll etc.

Struck is a graduate from the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen. He has worked for more than ten years as a film composer scoring and supervising eight feature films, three national TV-drama series, and a large number of documentaries and short films.

Struck’s inadmissible talent has not only served the Danish film industry. For several years he was part of the hugely successful Danish rock band Swan Lee, with multi-platinum selling albums. Today, when he’s not composing for the movies, Struck is working on his own projects, as well-received Cours Lapin album, released in the UK and France or reinventing modern jazz with Thunderstrucks, nominated for the prestigious Nordic Music Award or the newly released album by Worn Out Sun.
