Billy Cox served with Jimi Hendricks in the army and later played bass in his band Of Gypsys. Billy Cox's Nitro Function The new trio with Billy Cox clearly uses The Band of Gypsys baggage, and this is most evident in the characteristic guitar technique: Char Winning carefully imitates Hendrix (he is the author of almost all compositions). Cox's growling fuserized bass complements the resemblance, although the high vocals give a completely different color. However, the compositional disc is completely different, most of the songs sound like Jefferson Airplane in the processing of Hendrix companions, especially things like Touch Me or Powerhouse. Cox written by You Got A Hold On Me has funky influences, and the band also performs its version of Davis's You Really Got Me.
