When Drake Bell recorded the follow up to his 2006 debut album It’s Only Time, he never thought it would finally see the light of day over a decade later. Aptly named The Lost Album, Drake Bell’s latest release, out now via Vydia, was quite literally lost for the past 12 years.
“When I started working on the album, all I had were skeletons of songs…then the harddrive was lost. I thought the songs would never be heard again. Fans actually started to take snippets of the teasers I released at the time and formed them into their own songs with their own titles,” ~ Drake explains.
The harddrive was found in a damaged box years later, filled with dirt and completely waterlogged. Against all odds, it was able to be restored and all of the original recordings were recovered unharmed. He kept the original tracks, added background vocals, real drums, and real horns. Now, after over a decade, Drake Bell finally gives fans the songs they’ve been demanding for years.
