The Bob Florence Limited Edition - Magic Time (1983)

The third of Bob Florence's four albums for the Trend and Discovery labels (which unfortunately have only been reissued on CD thus far in piecemeal fashion) has typically unpredictable arrangements from Florence on six of his originals. The first of Florence's recordings to bill his 18-piece band as the "Limited Edition" has fine solos by trumpeters Warren Luening and Steve Huffsteter, altoist Lanny Morgan (featured on "Rhythm and Blues"), baritonist Bob Efford, and Bob Cooper on tenor. Easily recommended.
