Founded in 1984, the Big Band returned to the site of its beginnings in 2006, the Tampere Conservatory, and began a fresh start there. The leader of the band is Juha Untala, trumpet teacher at the conservatory. The CD contains music written by Finnish jazz legend Kari Komppa.
