Hogtown Hot Club - Major Swing (2020)

The Hogtown Hot Club came together in 2010 brought together by their love of swing music from the 30's and 40's. Inspired by how Django Reinhardt and his group the “Hot Club de France” whose interpretations of the American jazz of Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington created a new genre known as “Gypsy Jazz.” ​This high energy, Retro style of music is popular throughout Europe and is picking up fans throughout the U.S.A. Based in Northwest Arkansas we play music by Django, Ellington, Gershwin and a number of originals. Our group consists of Jim Jernigan on clarinet, Jim Greeson and Ed Nicholson on guitars, and Mike Johnson on bass. Two of the original tunes on this album also feature the melodica.
