Jo Basile & His Orchestra - Acapulco with Love (1967/2020) Hi Res

Acapulco with Love is just one in Jo Basile's withering series of accordion albums for Audio Fidelity, the label which, like Liberty, did everything well except sign major talent. But Basile is a competent and reliable, if generally uninspired, studio player; on these records he is accompanied by such Command/Time stalwarts as Phil Bodner, Tony Mottola, Al Caiola, and Bob Rosengarden. Cover art tends to be Basile (or someone) and a female model aboard a Vespa scooter richly decorated in the trappings of the thematic place, in this case Acapulco. "Negra Consentida" stands out, and it is hard to go wrong with Latin tunes in any case.
