Max Plattner Trio - II (2020)

Songs that are remembered. Arrangements with unmistakable handwriting. Clever compositions that subtly undermine the jazz clichés and three musicians who take their music more seriously than themselves.
Lorenzo Sighel, Marco Stagni and Max Plattner represent a generation of jazz musicians who are shaped by pop culture. They move with playful skills, compositional sophistication and a good dose of humor between the topics and phenomena of their time.
They never lose sight of their passion for jazz music. The unbelievable joy they play on stage sets the audience in motion even without conventional harmony instruments.
This is the strength of the trio: bringing harmony into their pieces without having the classic possibilities at hand. Only through saxophone, bass and drums do they create catchy melodies that touch in their clarity and at the same time are brought on stage raw and dirty.
In January 2018, they met to record a debut album. A total of nine songs were recorded, which were later to be divided into 2 EPs. The first four compositions can be found on the "Beta EP" and were presented as part of a tour of Austria and Germany in April 2018. This record was released on the Viennese label "Do Mjusik" and has also been available on Spotify, Amazon, Deezer, iTunes and Apple Music since December 21, 2018.
The five remaining tracks were released on the second EP "Beats & Ballads" in March 2019. On the eponymous "Beats & Ballads Tour" clubs in Italy, Austria & Germany were played.
In spring 2020, MPT will release its first debut album, which was recently recorded at Feedback Studios Vienna together with Patrick Pulsinger.
