Clifford Coulter was a notable blues and R&B keyboardist in the 70 s and 80 s who released 3 solo albums. He also played with the likes of John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Mel Brown, Sergio Mendes and Bill Withers. THE BETTER PART OF ME was Clifford s third and final solo album appearing in 1980 on CBS Records. This album crammed full of soulful R&B was produced by Soul legend BILL WITHERS. Bill had spent 10 years churning out hit after hit with the likes of Grandma s Hands, Ain t No Sunshine, Lovely Day and Just The Two Of Us. Using the kudos from these hits he fashioned a position for himself that allowed him to produce some of his favourite artists including Clifford. LOVES TOO HOT TO HIDE is a classic in both the UK Rare Groove and Japanese Free Soul scenes. Released in deluxe Super Jewel cases, with bonus tracks, THE BETTER PART OF ME is a must for all Soul and Jazz fans out there!
