Phil Coulter - Echoes Of Home; The Most Glorious Celtic Melodies (2014)

Back to basics! That was the inspiration for this album and the mantra through the recording process.
On my recent releases the orchestra has been getting bigger and bigger and the arrangements more and more lush. This time out I wanted to get back to the essentials – great melodies and the sound of the piano. The one indulgence I allowed myself was to invite on board some of my musician friends, all icons in the world of Celtic music. I am very flattered and deeply grateful that each one of them readily agreed to duet with me.

The melodies come from Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Nova Scotia. Some are hundreds of years old, others are recent compositions. All of them are glorious. I hope we do them justice.
This project was a pleasure and a privilege. I hope you find a place for it in your Celtic collection.
