Vladimir Torres, of Uruguayan origin, grew up and trained in France. He is self-taught on double bass.

He became known alongside Ritary Gaguenetti, Marion Roch and even Fayçal Salhi, traveling the world as a musician since 2002.

In 20 years, Vladimir has collaborated as a bass player, double bass player, composer or arranger on more than thirty albums. He records for the artists with whom he performs on stage, or as a studio musician, in very different musical styles. (Pop, Salsa, Jazz, Song.)

He also created music for three contemporary dance shows. Two with the dancer Cécile Danjou and one with the Odradek company.

Having shared the stage with Tom Moretti for many years, and more recently met pianist Martin Schiffmann, in 2020 he presented his album "INICIAL", forged in his trio animated by a strong musical bond, enriched by the presence of Christophe Panzani at saxophones and Damien Groleau on flutes. His music is Jazz, which has its roots in Latin America as well as in the Middle East, all tinged with urban rhythms.

Vladimir thinks that in his music he is as much influenced by Claude Debussy, Pat Metheny, Petros Klampanis, Bill Evans, as by the musicians with whom he shares the stage.
