Nicolas Delgado is a Colombian guitarist and composer born in Bogota. In 2000 he began studying classical music (classical guitar, modern guitar, boleros) at the El Bosque University in Bogotá. Two years later, in 2002, he traveled to Barcelona to study at the Taller de Músic (a school specializing in modern music) that focused on jazz. After 4 years of studying in Barcelona, he started to work on salsa, bolero, Latin music, Bossanova, pop and funk, but mainly in jazz. He played in well-known bars in the city. Parallel to his work in bars, he teaches guitar and sons at private schools, develops music for short films and arranges musical arrangements for various projects.
After nine years in Barcelona, he moved to Munich. In these three years he recorded his first two albums as a soloist, accompanied by important musicians from the Munich jazz scene. played in major European jazz clubs such as Munich (Unterfahrt, Vogler, Bayerischer Hof, Milla) Rosenheim (Le Pirate) Barcelona (Jamboree, Jazzsi Club) Girona (sunset) Berlin (B apartment) Budapest (jazz garden). In 2014 he returned to Barcelona, where he recorded his third jazz album with one of the most important trumpeters in Spain. In recent years he has participated in workshops and master classes: Pat Martino, Chick Corea, Leo Brouwer, Scott Henderson, Giovanni Hidalgo, Horacio “El Negro”, Hernández and John Scofield.
He has participated in festivals and played in cities such as Berlin, Munich, Rosenheim and Ingolstadt (Germany); Budapest (Hungary); Toulouse, Marseille and Paris (France); Milan, Perulla (Italy); Galway, Dublin, Ennis, Limerick, Sligo, Belfast, Cork (Ireland); Tangier, White House, Marrakesh, Ravat (Morocco); Barcelona, Madrid, Ibiza, Formentera, Granada, La Alpujarra (Spain), Bogota, Barranquilla, Buenaventura, Pasto, Leteia, Leticia, Bucaramanga, Santa Marta, Monteria, Ibague, Manavales, Mancales, Medellin, Cucuta, Florence, San Andres and Popayan (Colombia). In 2012 and 2013 he participated as an international guest at the jazz festivals in Barranquijazz (Barranquilla), Jazz al Parque (Bogota) as a guest in the category (Colombians Abroad) from Germany and Pasto Jazz (Pasto) as an international guest from Germany in 2015 Barranquijazz (released his third album) In 2016 he appeared as a teacher at the University of Cundinamarca in Colombia. I also take part in other projects at the jazz festivals of the (Barcelona) Voll Damm Jazz Festival and the Tanjazz (Tangier) Junction Festival (Clonmel).
In 2017 he was invited by (Banco de la Republica) to 13 different Colombian cities. This year he recorded his fourth live album with renowned musicians from the Colombian jazz scene, in 2018 he received the title of studying music with the University of Antioquia.
