Great American band mates playing an organic mix of hard rock, funk and soul. It all sounds like a mix of Grand Funk Railroad, Rare Earth and some Purple Image. The guys clearly achieved an optimal balance between hard and funk here and it’s hard to say that there is a heavy funk or hard hard (most likely the second). Guitar, vocals and rhythm section - everything here looks very worthy. There are also bloomed ballads with a touch of AOR. The guitar player is especially good - he should be singled out along with a moderately ferocious vocalist. Some commercial trends in no way interfere with enjoying solid melodies of musicians and practically disappear on the second side of vinyl, where their most bottom-hole things are presented (La La, Gypsy, Takin 'Care of Business - not a BTO cover, by the way). Strange only that this work has not yet been republished on CD and is generally relatively little known.
