Cherry Poppin' Daddies is an American band formed in 1989 in Eugene, Oregon. Formed by singer-songwriter Steve Perry and bassist Dan Schmid, the band has undergone numerous personnel changes over its thirty-year career, with only Perry, Schmid, and trumpeter Dana Heitman remaining from the original founding line-up. Daddies ' music is mainly a mix of swing and ska, covering both traditional jazz-influenced variations of genres, as well as modern rock and punk hybrids.
Bigger Life is the eleventh album in the discography of American band Cherry Poppin' Daddies, released on June 14, 2019. If the three previous albums released during the 2010s tended more to the swing and jazz styles, the current release, making a 180-degree turn, announced a return to the roots, the music that defined the earliest Daddies albums, where ska, ska punk and psychobilly dominated. Lyrically, Bigger Life is one of the Daddies ' most overtly political albums, touching on themes such as race relations, class consciousness, drug addiction, and the erosion of democratic values. Nevertheless, all this is sung and played in a fun and relaxed way, however, as always does Cherry Poppin' Daddies.
