Kevin Brown - 6 Strings and a Dream (2020)

Kevin Brown is celebrating the vinyl release of 6 Strings and a Dream, his first album out on vinyl since Rust in 1988. Along with the vinyl release on June 1st, Kevin premiered the video Shadows on the Wall on YouTube and will release two other videos inspired by his visits to Clarksdale and its blues legacy.

Between his modest home in the green hills of Wiltshire, an old houseboat in Clarksdale and a grass hut on the dazzling beaches of South Goa, Kevin Brown created the songs for 6 Strings And A Dream.6 Strings and a Dream on Vinyl, CD, DL & Streams

Little Grass Shack was inspired by a friend of Kevin’s, written for him as a Birthday present and sang at his birthday gathering close to the beach in Colomb, South Goa.

Square Peg in a Round Hole honours the tramps and hobos befriended by Kevin’s father and is also inspired by Dave Sanger, a travelling showman who still lives life on the road with horse-drawn carriages.

Shadows on the Wall is about a getting over a love affair that ended painfully, but this upbeat tune has a stoic message of hope and endurance.

Every song on this soulful album contributes to a tapestry of life stories, sung in Kevin’s signature, laid-back, sand-blown voice and enveloped in his timeless picking and slide guitar.
