Terry Blaine has an attractive voice that sometimes hints at country music in her phrasing and delivery. On this CD, she often overdubs her singing a few times to form a vocal choir with background singers.
The vintage music falls squarely into the world of trad jazz/swing, and Blaine is supported by a strong cast that includes pianist Mark Shane (who is responsible for the arrangements), cornetist Ed Polcer, trombonist Tom Artin, Dick Meldonian or Ken Peplowski on tenor and clarinet, guitarist Frank Vignola, bassist Russell George and drummer Danny D'Imperio.
This very likable set has among its better selections such tunes as "What a Little Moonlight Can Do," "Me Myself & I," "Guess Who's in Town" and "Waiting at the End of the Road." ~Scott Yanow
