BUVUS - Buskerud og Vestfold ungdomsstorband - Vendskap (2020)

BUVUS - Buskerud and Vestfold youth big bands play young jazz in large format where grooves, strong melodies and improvisation are at the forefront. Since its inception in 2014, young musicians from Buskerud and Vestfold have attended rehearsals and concerts at clubs and festivals. Last fall, BUVUS embarked on an intense tour that ended with a recording in the Norwegian audio studio in Mjøndalen. The band has constantly changed its lineup as new years have come and the elders have moved on to higher education, and now last year's band is ready with BUVUS 'very first album, Friendship.

The record release will be marked with a concert at Danevig Folk High School in Drammen, Sunday July 5 at 15. In addition to the record release with BUVUS, there will also be live debut for this year's Buskerud youth jazz orchestra with county artist in Buskerud, trumpeter Magnus Annestad Oseth, in front.

BUVUS is led by trombonist and composer Andreas Rotevatn with the help of tubaist Steffen Granly. Rotevatn is a member of the composer collective OJKOS (The Orchestra of Jazz Composers in Oslo) and has written most of the music for BUVUS.
