Leni Stern utilizes such impressive sidemen as fellow guitarist Wayne Krantz, tenor-saxophonist Bob Berg, Lincoln Goines or Harvie Swartz on bass and drummer Dennis Chambers on eight selections, all but one being her originals. The music ranges from a three guitar jam on "Groundhog" (which adds blues guitarist Dave Tronzo) to a song dedicated to Jaco Pastorius ("Who Loves You") and the melancholy strut "Maybe." Overall this set of music holds one's interest even if Stern was at this point a stronger composer than guitarist.~Scott Yanow
