Amaury Breyne, Yasmine Hammani & Pierre Pouillaude - Catharsis (Les musiciens et la Grande Guerre, Vol. 27) (2018)

Philippe Gaubert's Sonata frequently appears in the repertoire of flutists. Charming and light, it is interpreted here with great sensitivity by Pierre Pouillaude and Amaury Breyne; very beautiful Ancient Medals, for flute, violin and piano also.

Ibert's Christmas in Picardy is an intriguing, almost minimalist work, very well defended by the pianist (it appears in volume 25 of the collection in a transcription for strings).

Remain Séverac's piece where I prefer the piano light of Billy Eidi (Timpani) to the slightly hail of the Steinway of 1906 used here.
