Perrier award winner & 'Spirit of Scotland¹ music award nominee, singer/songwriter Niki King returns to her passion for Jazz with her Caber Music debut release album, 'azure'.
As with the human relationship, which this selection of songs about love and loss describes, at the musical centre of this record is a duo. Individually, both Niki King (vocals) and Marcus Ford (guitar) have incredible precise control and beautiful sounds on their respective instruments. What makes the combination special, and greater than the sum of it¹s parts, is the intimacy they create, an arena of stark but emotional honesty within which the lyrics of songs like "Wild is the Wind¹ and 'Fly Me to the Moon¹ hang and glow as if in late night neon.

On three tracks the duo are joined by horns, bass and percussion but not for a second is the dreamy, mellow, intimacy of this beautiful, and easy on the ear record lost. This CD promises to create a star out of the photogenic and immensely talented Niki King.
