From The Beatles to Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Annie Lennox, Billie Holiday and everything in between, music has saved my life on & on & on again.

The melody, the rhythm & the rhyme; That is my Grace. I have always been singing, and dancing everywhere.

After High School I hooked up with the Danish tenor saxophone player & producer Thomas Hass. We collaborated on several projects that were released on the small club scene in both Germany & UK - The underground, under names such as Solar System feat Kendra, The Society & later Kendra Lou & the Miracles.

Thomas Hass was in many ways a catalyst for my ability to explore writing songs. Jazz, blues, soul & old Motown, RnB became the inspiration. I took singing lessons and private studies in music theory but gradually became more and more involved with amateur theatre and I discovered that my focus changed. So I began turning more to acting which in the end let me to study at the William Esper Studio in New York City for 2 years. Having graduated I returned to Copenhagen to participate in a music theatre show of a famous Danish poet entitled ”Onkel Danny.” The following year I spent time learning to play the guitar and writing material for my future album. I was cast in the TV-show ”Name that tune” and followed up my TV appearances being a contestant at the Danish song contest 2008 (DMGP 08) with the song ”Until we’re satisfied”. That same year I became a part of a grand theatre concert staged at Aarhus Theatre. The show ”Beach Boys” directed by the acclaimed team of Nikolaj Cederholm & The Helleman brothers was a tremendous success. Alongside my work on stage I found time to record music.

Kendra Lou & The Miracles released a single entitled ”Everyday” on the British label Wah Wah 45. If you are Danish you have heard that song in a tv commercial for IKEA. I presented my debut album “To the end of the world” in 2010. Jazz & blues that perhaps will lead your thoughts back to the grand ol’ days of jazz but also lure your imagination into the present with lyrics that reflects our lives at this time & age. The inspiration is clearly American old school vocal jazz. Lady Day, Ella Fitzgerald & Peggy Lee have made their impressions on me as well as present singers such as Madeleine Peyroux & Melody Gardot. Though inspired by the divas of time, I tried to bring my own voice and feeling to the music.

Living in NYC in 2013 I have been doing some readings for SATC (Scandinavian American Theatre Company)& I am working on a new album of original music more based on soul, pop, folk & blues. My inspirations are many. I have stopped making sense of it, now I just write the songs.

The songs are more important than the genre or the artist. The song is the creation. The birth. The story we all want to be a part of. It is my confession, my memory, my prayer.
Also I am using time doing all kinds of small projects with other people that flows between comedy, short story & poetry writing and exploration of art versus sensuality.
