The award-winning pianist, Ashley Wass, performs a ‘musical autobiography’: a selection of works that are particularly personal to him, all of which are directly inspired by JS Bach. Wass describes the project as being “…the first mixed repertoire recording over which I’ve had complete control - a series of pieces that have been particularly significant in my life and career to date.”

The booklet contains personal notes written by Ashley, detailing the stories which inspired his choice of pieces, including the Beethoven Bagatelles which were part of his winning programme at the London International Piano Competition. Ashley is the only British winner to date of this prestigious competition.

Increasingly in demand on the international stage, Ashley has performed at many of the world’s finest concert halls including Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall and the Vienna Konzerthaus. In June 2002 he appeared in a gala concert at Buckingham Palace to mark the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, a performance broadcast live to millions of viewers around the world. In recent years he has become a regular guest at the BBC Proms, making his debut in 2008.
