Sharel Cassity - Fearless (2020)

Saxophonist & Composer Sharel Cassity presents her fifth album as a leader, "Fearless." An album about listening to one's inner voice and having the courage to follow it, the title "Fearless" doesn't deny the existence of fear but instead focuses on the strength to follow a path despite it. With two originals composed for her bandleaders, bandmates, and mentors Roy Hargrove and Claudio Roditi, each track on "Fearless" tells a story while also contributing to a larger narrative. "Road to Dukhan" was inspired by Sharel's time living abroad in Qatar, where her son was born, and all four band members have spent time performing.
