Marko Kupari, born in 1975 at Kaustinen, Finland, began his studies in playing the organ under the instruction of Markku Vuori at the Conservatory of Keski-Pohjanmaa and the Music Lyseum of Kaustinen. Since 1994 he studied in the Degree programme of Church Music at Sibelius Academy, Helsinki. His instructor in organ studies was Markku Heikinheimo. Marko Kupari achieved his Master of Music (MMus) - Degree in 2001 and the A - Degree in organplaying in the spring of 2002. He has also studied organ improvisation privately under the instruction of Mikko Korhonen in Kuopio. In addition to performing as a soloist Kupari has performed as a chamber musician with singers, instrumentalists and choirs. Marko Kupari is currently the church musician of the congregation of Jamsa.
Marko Kupari has reinforced his studies with different master courses, for example at the Organ Festivals of Kotka and Parainen. His instructors have been Jacques van Oortmerssen, Hans Davidsson, Olli Porthan, Pieter Van Dijk, Hans Fagius, Kari Jussila, Harald Herresthal and Ralph Gustafsson.
Marko Kupari has premiered all of the organ compositions of Kai Nieminen.
