Mette Speich - Late Bloomer (2020)

"Late Bloomer" is Mette Speich´'s second album. Unlike her debut album "Lazy Afternoon" which presented a number of Standard tracks that are well screwed together, this album consists of original music and lyrics that tend to poetry. Mette has had a fruitful collaboration with Jazz vocalist and composer Katrine Madsen who for many years has composed her own material. One will therefore listen to songs that are deeply personal and touching. Songs about loss, songs that ask questions to Life, songs that are about the only one and about Life's big questions, and about "debuting" late in life. On this album, as on the previous one, Mette Speich is backed by some of Denmark's most professional jazz musicians, who together with Mette's Vocal, create an original sound universe.
