Oddfellow's Casino - Burning! Burning! (2020)

Burning! Burning! takes its themes from the symbolism of light and fire, ritual, poltergeists, neolithic monuments, space exploration and old legends. The themes grew from a few key events in the life of singer-songwriter David Bramwell in 2019, including joining a druidic order (the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids) meeting the author Alan Garner and becoming drawn into an elderly neighbour’s ongoing problems with a poltergeist. Anthemic electro-psychedelic tracks like Sol Ra and Twice Around the Sun explore solstice rituals and the neolithic landmarks around Wiltshire; Chime Children plays on an old legend that those born at midnight are blessed with musical ‘powers’ and second sight.
