"The Orchid" is a new title in the Polish Jazz series number 85! Drummers are a unique rarity in the series. Maciej Gołyźniak - the titled Polish drummer is the third leader, after Czesław Bartkowski and Kazimierz Jonkisz, whose album appears in this legendary series, published since the 1960s. To implement his original project in a trio, Maciej Gołyźniak invited outstanding instrumentalists: Robert Szydło (bass), Łukasz Damrych (piano) and as a guest artist in four pieces by Łukasz Korybalski (flugelhorn). Maciej Gołyźniak, who has been moving musically in the hit pop, alternative and progressive rock, this time speaks to us in a language that few suspect him of, and which has always played in his soul - JAZZ!

As the artist himself says: “This album is for me a unique conglomerate of moods and fascinations. Nostalgia present in our culture and art, but also the coldness of Scandinavia, which is very close to me. Besides, I am very inspiring with New York sound. On the one hand, my favorite ostinato, contemporary hip-hop groove, but still jazz harmonies. And the production that I have annexed to this album from my experience. Work on the album resembled a crucible boiling with euphoria and the calm ocean. However, this is definitely a nostalgic album. A musical journey from Poland to the States with a stop in your favorite Scandinavia ”.

If you treat "The Orchid" as a record of such a journey, the notebook from it is full of recorded moments, moods and climates that remain in the memory long after its end. Sometimes forever.
