Peter " Pikey " Butler and his band Jumpin 'Five have concocted a cheerful album. No pretension here to revolutionize music, even if the fifteen pieces in English are compositions. The London singer-double bassist's group, established in Finistère for a long time, dates back to black American sources in the 1940s and 1950s. It was the period when Louis Jordan and Slim Gaillard coated the swing of humor, where Chuck Berry performed alchemy perfect between melody, words and rhythms by popularizing rock'n roll, where Ray Charles mixed gospel and rhythm'n blues to invent soul. “ Streamline ” immerses the listener in these climates which give an irresistible urge to stomp and dance. The choirs, saxophone solos, piano and guitar to taste "vintage ”sail with contagious happiness in these heady climates. They recall the eternal modernity of the founding genres of boogie, blues, mambo rock and swing. ~Frederic Ham
