Ingrid Malmén - Hjärtslag (2020)

Ingrid Malmén's heart project (formerly Ingo) has been described as magnificent and melodic jazz with urgent, Swedish lyrics that express a lot. The music is reminiscent of bands like Klabbes Bank, Paavo and EST.

Since it was formed in 2015, the band has been a young force to be reckoned with on the Swedish jazz scene and played in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, on e.g. Fasching, Stockholm Jazz Festival and played on Jazzradion in P2. On February 25, 2018, the debut album Efterskalv (Armadillo Recordings) was released. The second album "Hjärtslag" will be released on October 2, 2020.

Ingrid's song and personal lyrics about love, doubt and humanity are woven together with the wind section in well-written arrangements that reinforce the expression. The drive and playfulness of the rhythm section backs up and together they form a responsive and cohesive group. The songs are framed by Ingrid's energy and stage presence, which requires the listener's attention from the first note.
