Shakai - Skittles (2018)

Shakai comes from Japanese and means "public" or "society."
Shakai's music is playful, full of humor, challenging and sometimes very serious. With countless references, different and strong opinions, the band's musical expression is constantly evolving. The music is varied and almost schizophrenic, like a bag of Skittles. Mixed drops. Something for every taste.

In the spring of 2016, Shakai was one of four bands that got to take part in the tour "The future of Norwegian Jazz", a tour organized and funded by Central Norwegian, Eastern Norwegian and West Norwegian jazz centers. The same year, the quintet played on the first ever implementation of the hit Wild Wild West and soon after went to Duper Studio with the renowned producer Jørgen Træen and recorded their debut album, Skittles.
