Superdrummer, percussionist and one-man-band Erland Dahlen returns with an incredibly varied, rocking, spectacular and astonishing collection of instrumental songs on his third album, 'Clocks'.

Dahlen was nominated for a Spellemannspris (Norwegian Grammy) for his previous album, 'Blossom Bells', which according to the veteran critic Terje Mosnes was "an original and superbly carried out album".

His discography currently stands at around 315 releases. He has played with an impressively broad range of artists and projects, including Eivind Aarseth's band Sonic Codex, John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Anja Garbarek, Ane Brun, Nils Petter Molvær and many others. As a musician he is immediately recognisable for his Rolex-like precision, energy and unique sensitivity for and interest in exploring different sounds.

The collection of instruments used on the album is, as on his previous albums, large, imaginative and unique. Anybody expecting a drum album will be very surprised. It is not without reason that Uncut has described the sound of his solo music as "fuller and more imaginative than many post-rock quartets." Erland is passionate about new sounds, and is constantly searching for new instruments. "I bought some Cymbells, a Mellotron, several large sheets of metal and a variety of drum machines and string instruments before I went into the studio to make this album. It's incredibly inspiring to explore new instruments and find new sounds," Dahlen says.
