Christopher Bissonnette - Pitch, Paper & Foil (2015)

Returning to the label on which he first started making his name a few years ago, Christopher Bissonnette delivers some of his trademark surrealism in the form of a mini LP. The work consists of deep, mesmerizing drone and ambient that seems to form tight grooves out of beatless, spacey textures. "Keeping Guard", for example, is simple in form and only carried forth by the flutters of pads and abstract sonics, while other tunes such as "Shuttering Slides" find a clear direction and path among sunken wails and bleeps. It's a meditative experience, and a mystical one at that.
