The excellent guitarist Jerome Barde made his recording debut on this CD, using such illustrious sidemen as pianist Kirk Lightsey, bassist Rufus Reid and drummer Billy Hart. The most impressive aspect to this fine set is that Barde (whose guitar style already shows signs of originality at this early stage) contributed nine of the ten songs, taking the tender "I'll Be Seeing You" as the session's only standard.
