Andres Sanchez
Born December 31, 1975 Mexican musician, film composer and producer. Andres Sanchez the bassist aka SanchezDub has a definitive style which fuses electronic rhythms and digital programming with dub harmonies, delays and reverberation. A pioneer on the Mexican Music Scene his synthesis of African, Latin and Caribbean music with electronic beats opened up what once was an inhospitable route. His ground breaking career began in 1995 when he co-founded Titan and released the album "Karate Mix". In 1999 he was part of the second production "Elevator" which was edited by Virgin. He then moved on to Sanchez&Ruiz, currently known as Ruisort with whom he made the album "Acapulco Now", under the label Certificate 18 in London. Later collaborations with Fake Fazz and Wako Texas allowed Sanchez to flex his prowess for live improvisation, bringing his unique flavor of Jazz and Funk. His subsequent collaboration with Uriel Esquenazi in B.N.Loco had a distinctive Latin flavor. Andres Sanchez knows no boundaries in musical exploration and collaboration he is involved in projects with the likes of Jacobo Lieberman, Leo Heiblum and Alexis Ruiz with whom he founded the Exotic Ensemble and another concept Los Shajatos, in which they alternate sounds of Hindu Tabla, vibraphone, banjo and bass. Gus Reyes
Born June 27, 1977, Gus Reyes is a Mexican musician and composer primarily focused on film scoring. Reyes began his studies in music at the age of 8. His father, Jesus Gustavo Ramírez Avila, student of the great guitar players Manuel López Ramos (México 1929-2006) and Andrés Segovia (Spain, 1893-1987), was his first teacher in music. He studied in many important music institutions ending with his application to the "Cardenal Miranda Institute", where Reyes spent most of his youth studying music. Great Mexican teachers had been part of his education, like Xavier Gonzalez Tezcucano (Composer, Orchestral and Choral Conductor), Luis Armando Elias Chain (Composer), Philippe H. Tolon (Lead Violinist), Juan Trigos (Composer), Jorge Torres Sáenz (Composer), Jaime Uribe (Composer and Musical analyst), Eduardo Gamboa (Composer), among others. Reyes studied majors in Composition, Orchestral and Choral Conducting and Musicology. There are countless examples of Reyes's music in Mexican film industry like "Magnicidio" (2002), "El Ultimo Evangelio" (2008), "El Ultimo País Mágico" (2005), "El Secreto" (2010), "The Dark Side of Light" (2014), "El Entrenador" (2014), "Pink" (2015) and many more. Reyes also has collaborated with other composers like Andres Sanchez-Maher in "El Charro Misterioso" (2014) and Francisco Albisua in "El Fantástico Mundo de Juan Orol" (2012) as additional composer and orchestrator. Reyes and Sanchez-Maher were part of the Latin Grammy award winning unplugged of the rock band "Zoé" for their arrangements and orchestrations in 2011. Also Reyes was nominated for the Jerry Goldsmith Award for his work on the film "The Dark Side of Light" at the International Film Music Festival of Cordoba, Spain 2014. Invited by Bertha Navarro (Producer of Guillermo Del Toro's "Pan's Labyrinth" and "The Devil's Backbone"), Reyes has been part of all Mexico City's Film Music Labs since 2010 as Film Scoring Advisor.
