The album is comprised of arrangements of standard classical fare for brass and is uniformly successful. There isn't one bad apple in the bunch. In fact, each piece is a music fest. The original works span from baroque to 20th century. I won't go into detail about each individual track, but I was particularly impressed with the three Gabrieli tracks. The most stellar to my ears is a Canzon on Track 3. The technique of the players is truly mind-blowing and has to be heard to be believed. In total, the disc contains 15 tracks of sublime brass pieces from the works of six composers including Walton, Bach, Grainger, Revueltas, Prokofiev, and of course Gabrieli.
If you too are a lover of brass, then you simply must have this glorious disc! The performances are unparalleled and the sonics are stunning.
