Optimism and retrospection in times of Corona. Cosmono aka Frank Schönhofer returns with this EP written in the wake of the lock down.
An album was to be recorded early in March 2020. The material was there, the studio was booked, the band well prepared — but then the pandemic reached us and the recording session had to be postponed indefinitely. To record the songs of that album in any other way was no option; the planning was too far ahead already.
Within the following weeks Frank Schönhofer made use of the delay and assembled old sketches of lyrics, musical notes and new ideas into new songs. Jan Phillip contributed drums and Marco Mlynek Guitar, Piano and backing vocals from their homes. And despite the physical distance of the three musicians a very direct, vivid and atmospheric recording was created. The lyrics deal with these curious times of standstill and isolation but also with hope and remembrance.
